Background: 

Since its official establishment, June 14, 1775 — more than a year before the Declaration of Independence — the U.S. Army has played a vital role in the growth and development of the American nation.  The largest and oldest service in the U.S. military, the Army provides the ground forces that protect the united States.   



Dedication Inscription:

I am an American Soldier. I am a Warrior and a member of a team. 

I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values. 

I will always place the mission first. 

I will never accept defeat. I will never quit. 

I will never leave a fallen comrade. 

I am an American Soldier  

Attribution Inscription:  

The Sergeant’s Major Association (SMA) of Fort Huachuca proudly supports this monument 

to the Soldiers of this community and our nation, 

without whom our freedom would be a distant memory.
